Gridview rowupdating event not
The most important thing for me is to get the index of the row on which the button was clicked.please try to reply. I am trying to fill a 2nd grid view using input parameters including data from the 1st grid view rows using a stored procedure when the button in that row is clicked. I got a string object conversion when with the following lineint current Row Index = Int32. Command Argument); The fix is as below and then worked fine.
Text = "Product ID: " & Product ID End Sub The code did not work.. I fixed the syntax mistakes and it didnt work still. Now how do you get the those buttons to display data when clicked?
Hi All, In above written code only EDIT event is being fired & that is only once after that UPDATE, CANCEL no event is being fired. All I want to do is change the Grid Row Color on the basis of the value entered in QTY field.
Also, and im no exception catching expert, it seems that your try catch blocks are a bit general.
If we move our mouse on to the variables, which hold the cell values, we can see the old value instead of new updated value (Refer the debugging Screen Shot at the Top).
Please suggest if someone has faced this problem before.
The Row Updating event fires fine , but gv2_Row Updated does not fire? Width="99%" Header Style-Css Class="ph Head" Css Class="phone Table" Grid Lines="Both" Auto Generate Edit Button="true" Auto Generate Delete Button="true" On Row Editing="gv2_Row Editing" On Row Canceling Edit="gv2_Row Conceling Edit" On Row Updated="gv2_Row Updated" On Row Updating="gv2_Row Updating" Edit Row Style-Back Color="Light Yellow" Data Key Names="id External ID" If you're manually binding data to the Grid View (not using a Data Source ID), then the Row Updating event will fire after an update command, but the Row Updated event will never fire. Aaron I should have been more specific as to why I need the Row Updated to fire.
It looks Row Updated event will not fire unless I use a Data Source ID, which I am not. So, after clicking update, the Row Updating fires but I cannot get the Grid View to exit out of Edit Mode.
The Grid View comes with a pair of complementary view controls: Details View and Form View.In the following tutorial, I will show you different techniques you can use to display command buttons in Grid View. Command Name Dim current Row Index As Integer = Int32. For this tutorial I am using Microsoft famous sample database Northwind. Also make sure you are setting Grid View Data Key Fields property to the Primary Key column of the Product Table such as Product ID. By combining these controls, you can easily set up master-detail views using very little code and sometimes no code at all. From the following chapters you can see some important operations in ASP.
